Description: Lopez Heredia’s work takes its origins from his adolescence years and the influence of his father, who also was a painter and began to teach his son at a very young age. The father taught Lopez Heredia a particular technique, which he eventually improved and personalized by taking courses at the Art Academy “Les Beaux Arts”. Lopez Heredia’s passion and inquisitiveness lead him to new ways of expression that amend his techniques toward the abstract art and more particularly toward the floral abstraction by spontaneous projections, which unceasingly lead him to find new perspectives, new forms, new landscapes; the repercussion of these factors transforms into plastic elements guaranteeing the spontaneity, a very important matter on his creations. In 1972 Lopez Heredia meets with Hans Hartung, a recognized painter of the Lyric Abstraction. Inspired by Hartung’s determination three years later Lopez Heredia consolidates a patent reaffirming his theory of the Expansion in the floral abstract art (Patent 16553 -5/21/75). Faithful to the method of expression in the form of oil-base paint, the painter brings by the intensity of the projection and the explosion of its colors, the expansion that exceed the limits of the fabric, within the geometric limits of its foundation, bringing out an imaginary scene which contrasts with the softness of the topic of the floral art, resulting in a very unique piece of art.
