  • Workshop Development of Technical Architecture

  • Description: One of the initiatives under the e-Government Action Plan is a service-wide technical architecture (SWTA) with the objective of interoperability amongst ICT systems in agencies. Such a service-wide technical architecture should be supplemented with a technical architecture (TA) that is specific to each agency. Development of an agency-wide TA will provide a framework for coherent system design and technology selection, facilitate interoperability of ICT systems and reduce integration complexity. In addition to the technical content, appropriate structures and processes are necessary to achieve the intended objectives. This workshop aims to provide the participants with the required knowledge to oversee the entire effort. The workshop will enable IT staff responsible for an agency-wide TA to understand the concepts of TA and equip them with the critical knowledge and skills required to undertake the development of an agency-wide TA. Specific guidelines on the key processes and steps to be pursued in development and ongoing maintenance of an agency-wide TA will be covered. Participants will also undergo practical sessions with a case study of an agency.
