Khecari Dance Theatre
Description: Khecari Dance Theatre is a non-profit contemporary dance company based in Taos, New Mexico. Artistic Director Jonathan Meyer’s eclectic style draws from modern, post-modern, ballet, capoeira, butoh, and other forms, using the juxtaposition of such forms and the dialogue between their various aesthetics and intelligences to raise and address pertinent questions about consistency, integrity, choice, inevitability, and human interactions. These issues are explored largely through the relationship between physical matters – momentum, connection, transition, resistance, and release, and social matters – habits, needs, change, defenses, and acceptance. Khecari Dance Theatre probes the liminal realms of paradox: union dissolves to isolation, anguish burns to rapture; for paradox holds as its treasure transformation.

Description: The School of Toronto Dance Theatre was established in 1968 and has been under the Artistic Direction of Patricia Fraser since 1993.
