  • Shadow House PITS

  • Description: SHADOW HOUSE PITS is theatre born from the shadows and cracks in contemporary culture. Our work draws power from the conflicts between nature and civility; between life and art; between the individual impulse and the social being ... from the shadows of our existence. SHADOW HOUSE PITS is Australia's only theatre group focusing exclusively on what can best be described as the cultural and personal shadow. This gives rise to a "theatre of mystery, imagination and the fantastique". SHADOW HOUSE PITS seeks to challenge and inspire audiences and participants through theatre development, presentation and education.

  • Stone Little Theatre

  • Description: Stone Little Theatre was born out of an idea by Chris Bell and Alan Thorley and was officially formed as the Drama Section of the then Corning Sports & Social Club in September 1979. At that time, it was planned to produce an annual pantomime to which employees of Corning Science Products could bring their families. It soon became clear that there was a much wider need for live theatrical entertainment in the Stone area and consequently, the company’s role quickly grew to include plays and musicals. Our list of past productions (www.stonelittletheatre.co.uk/productions) is testimony to Stone Little Theatre’s success over the last 25 glorious years. In the early days, both Chris and Alan could be seen in most Stone Little Theatre productions. Nowadays, Chris prefers to channel his energies into the artistic direction of the company (although he did make a brief appearance in both Walkin' Back To Happiness and Yesterday Once More), whilst Alan ‘hung up his boobs’ and retired following his 23rd consecutive appearance as pantomime dame in our 2002 production of Dick Whittington. We are always looking for new members and if you would like to play a part in our company, whether on the stage or off, please contact Helen Fynney on Stone 819867.
